These Nadi readings also give predictions about the future and also remedies to get rid of problems or to escape the wrong doings in the past. But, Nadi readings are to be done by authentic experts only, and not by frauds who claim to have knowledge on the subject.

Let’s Know More about Nadi Astrology in Details

History of Nadi Astrology

All Nadi written predictions are found in Tamil language. This astrology has its origin in Tamil Nadu and readings are available in the state and some nearby areas of the Southern region. The readings written on palm leaves are rightly interpreted by expert Nadi readers. It is believed that in this form of astrology, in ancient times, Hindu sages had foreseen and written about the past, present and the future lives of all humans on palm leaves. Ancient sage Agastya had a tremendous power to foresee the unseen and it was he who started writing the predictions of all future generations, about people who were not even born that time. This was followed by 6 other sages as well like as Bhrigu, Angira, Gautama, Atri, Kashyapa and Vashishta. Later on, their disciples and followers compiled the complete information and preserved it for the future generation. Each Nadi is the compilation of inscriptions done by a particular sage and is named after that sage who compiled them. Hence, we have Nadis referred as Shukha Nadi, Brahma Nadi, Agathiya Naadi, Kaushika Nadi etc.

Where are the Nadi Readings found today?

The palm leaves were stored in the premises of Thanjavur's Saraswati Mahal Library in Tamil Nadu initially. The Britishers showed interest in the Nadi leaves. While studying these leaves, some of these got destroyed and the remaining leaves were auctioned during the colonial rule. Many astrologer families belonging to Vaitheeswaran Temple in Tamil Nadu obtained these leaves and these have been preserved and passed from one generation to another over the years. According to legends, these palm leaves are now scattered in many parts of India, but even today, the most authentic place for Nadi palm readings is found in this town called Vaitheeshwaran Koil located near Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu.
Can anyone find his or her Nadi reading?
It is believed that the nadi palm inscriptions are available for all persons on this earth. But, whether the nadi experts can find the Nadi leaf of a concerned person is purely on the basic of luck, because at times it becomes difficult to find that specific palm leaf destined for a particular person. Infact, tracing the Nadi of a person can take 1 day or few days and at times many years.

How are the Nadi readings of a particular person found?

Nowadays, there are many centers in different parts of India offering Nadi readings. If you visit a genuine astrology center, they will first of all take your thumb impression. Right thumb impression is taken for men, and left thumb impression for women.
On the basis of your thumb impression, the specific palm leaf of the person is to be searched among the palm leaves stored in the Vaitheeshwaran Kovil temple. It is to be noted that the thumb impressions of people are classified into 108 groups or categories. The experts of Nadi astrology first identify the category to which the thumb impression of that person belongs, give the thumb impression to the library, and then pick the right reading for the person accordingly. So, you should consider yourself very lucky if you find your reading among the lakhs of palm inscriptions stored in the library.

How are the Nadi palm readings done by Nadi experts?

Once the specific palm leaf of a person is found, these readings are again sent back to original astrological centre from where the initial order of reading had been placed. Some people directly go to the main centers in Tamil Nadu and enquire whether his or her readings are available. These Nadis are written in ancient Tamil script in a sonnet or couplet form. Under each of the thumb impressions, there can be many bundles of manuscripts, each bundle containing 50 to 100 leaves.
First, the pattern of the impression is identified which helps in the identification of the category in which the palm leaf or Olai Chuvadi will be found. These palm leaves or Olai Chuvadis are tied in bunches of 100. Again, each bunch has 50 palm leaves, where predictions are inscribed on both sides, making a total of 100. So each bunch will contain prediction of 100 persons (one leaf for each person). The first leaf is the Chuvadi or an index. The astrologer then asks few questions to the concerned person, for which there will be either a 'Yes' or 'No' answer. In this way, many index leaves are rejected till the time all the questions asked get a 'Yes' as answers in a single leaf. This is the right 'Palm Leaf' of the person.
Once found, the readings on the palm leaf are then translated or converted in a known language by expert nadi astrologers and linguists who have studied this form of astrology. You also get a printed form of the results or a recorded CD of the predictions for future reference.
How far the readings are correct?
Predictions of the past, present and future are told to the concerned person, like as getting a job, promotion, acquiring of house, property, readings on marriage, relationships, curing a disease, etc. The nadi reader talks about the individual’s life and destiny, mention his or her parents’ name and number of siblings, spouse name, number of children and so on. All these are as per the readings written on the script. Remedies (also known as parihar) are also written on the palm leaves to offset or minimize evils pertaining to that person. If any Nadi reader asks your birth details, then in that case, you can presume that he may not be reading from a genuine palm leaf or he can be a fraud nadi astrologer. Nadi astrologers do not predict anything on their own. They simply describe the predictions written by sages millions of years ago.

Is there Nadi remedies?

Another aspect of Nadi or Palm astrology is that along with past, present and future predictions, the palm scriptures also disclose remedies to get rid of any problems and cleanse your life of past misdeeds or sins or take any preventive steps. If you believe in Nadi astrology, you should also believe Nadi remedies and live a wholesome, helpful and beneficial life by following the remedies exactly. It is said that these remedies are too written by ancient sages along with the predictions and hence if the remedies are followed exactly as written, it is believed that you get strength and support  to solve all obstacles in life.
Nadi Astrology in today’s time
Nadi astrology is too ancient that often leads to the mixing of facts and fictions together. Predictions switch from mythology to history to present-day facts. But, yes, it is far beyond the traditional astrology. And it is a science too, because the rules of astrology which apply on one individual are applicable on others too, just as science which is similar for all.

Nadi astrology has been in use from a very long time. There was a prediction from one of the Nadi centers very long time back about  PVR Narasimha Rao becoming the next Prime Minister of India. The prediction came true and soon people started believing in Nadi astrology more. But with time, more and more scripts are getting lost or corrupted and there are many who are using this form of astrology to cheat others. There are many “Nadi Centers” who claim to possess original texts and be able to predict. While some readings can be astonishingly accurate while others are wrong.
If someone can disclose about your past without asking anything about your background, you can consider yourself lucky to get in touch with a real Nadi expert, who is reading the palm leaf based on your thumbprint. But then, there is no guarantee that the future predictions will always be correct. But what’s the harm in trying? Just as we believe in Vedic astrology, numerology, tantra, mantra, we can also try Nadi astrology or Nadi palm reading.
Many experts say that to get accurate predictions, you should have full faith in this form of astrology. Nadi experts say that this astrology is not to be tried for fun sake or just out of curiosity. Rather, they say that if the persons are destined to get the predictions, then only the palm leaf will be available for them.
